Sonship of the Believer: He Is Your Praise

John AvanziniBy John Avanzini4 Minutes

Praise the Lord, child of God. It’s good to be with you today. My name’s John Avanzini and welcome to Strengthen Your Walk.

We have kind of a fun verse here today. One of my favorite verses in the Bible, and probably one of the biggest verses in the Bible, is found in Deuteronomy 10:21. It says, “He is thy praise, and He is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.”

Notice what he says. He says, “He is your praise.” That literally means that He is whatever you’re praising Him for. So, get this into your thinking. If you’re sick, don’t praise Him for being your savior. Don’t sing songs about what a wonderful savior He is. Instead, get your praises turned around to the fact that He is your healer, that He is that one that by His stripes you’re healed. Praise Him for being the healer.

And two, whenever you get into a problem you’re not praising Him, “Thank you God that you saved me.” But instead start praising Him for being the deliverer, the one that delivers you. See, the Bible says in Psalm 22:3 – and this is an absolute truth – “But thou art holy, o thou that inhabit the praises of Israel.” God takes up habitation in the praises that are coming forth from your mouth.

Four and a half or so months ago my wife passed away. Sixty-six and a half years we were married. I wasn’t praising Him for being my savior. I was praising Him for being my comforter, the one that would come in and bring comfort into my heart. And the whole room filled with the spirit of comfort as I praised Him as comforter. So, keep that in mind, please.

Deuteronomy 10:21 belongs to you. It belongs to everybody that’s in Christ Jesus. He is your praise whatever the situation. If you’re in a legal situation, praise Him for being your counselor. For being your lawyer. Whatever the situation is. If there’s danger, praise Him for being your protector because He literally comes. The habitation around you. The air fills with the healing power of God when you praise Him as the healer.

If you have someone that’s lost – a child, a friend – begin to praise Him that He’s the savior. And in that operation and that time that you’re talking to them the air will be filled with the presence of the saving power of God.

I want you to know that’s one of the biggest verses in the Bible because it fits every situation that you come into. He is your praise. He is whatever you’re praising Him to be.

And I praise God that you’re with us today. That your life is going good, that you’re prospering. And that things break in your direction today. It’s a better day because we’ve praised God for being our savior, our healer, our Jehovah Jireh.

Bless you. Good to be with you.
