I ran into some interesting information this week: species hunters! There’s a group in the United States government that are looking for new species or overlooked species, and in 2020 they came up with 503 species that they had not heard about before.

I checked the list of the ones they found, and they had one missing. There’s a species known as the New Creatures in Christ Jesus … people who have accepted Christ as their Savior. And the Bible surely tells that they are brand-new creatures.

When you read 2 Corinthians 5:17, the Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away; all things are become new.”

The Amplified Bible says he’s a new creation – Child of God. Think about this: a new creature! A brand-new start! So many times people are looking for a way to have a new start and in Christ Jesus you have a clean new start. One of the wonderful things about that new start is that you’re not (as some people say) a sinner saved by grace – that’s a term that’s used – but you’re not a sinner that’s still the sinner and just saved. You now are a totally new creature. And the sins that you had before, they’ve been canceled.

In Micah 7:19, it says, “Once again, You will show loving concern for us. You will completely wipe out the evil things we’ve done. You will throw all our sins into the bottom of the sea.” Can you catch a hold of that?

With all the stuff that is behind you, you may say, “Oh, I wish I could redo that.” No, it’s gone. It’s at the bottom of the sea. And it’s a beautiful thing. 2 Corinthians 5:17 puts it and I brings it to you again: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; a new creation; a new person. Old things have passed away.”

The Hebrew Name Bible says, “they have disappeared.” Another Scripture tells us that “they are as far as the east is from the west.”

So, as you stand in Christ Jesus, know this: you’re not going to have to face those sins again because you now, as the Bible says, have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. That is extremely good standing to show up in the presence of God is to have your sins forgiven and forgotten and thrown into the sea of forgetfulness, never to be remembered against you again; even as far as east from the west your sins have been removed from you.

Think about that: not the south and the north but the east and the west … infinitely gone! And you are clean in the presence of God!

God bless you!
