When You Need a Miracle

When you need a breakthrough, the answer begins by drawing near to God.

What miracle are you praying for today?

I encourage you to pause and think about that question for a moment. Don’t settle for a general answer. Be specific. If you could ask God for anything right now, what would you ask Him for?

I meet so many people who are desperately seeking a miracle. They’re hoping for a turnaround in their finances, their health, their family, or their emotional well-being. Yet many of them are searching for that breakthrough in their own strength and ingenuity. They want God’s answers, but they aren’t seeking them from the One who holds them.

That approach almost always leads to frustration. It isn’t because God is unwilling to help. It’s because He wants you to receive your breakthrough from Him.

The Lord Is Your Source

Throughout Scripture, the men and women who experienced God’s power knew Him as the source of every blessing. As a young shepherd, David understood that sheep can’t survive on their own. They need a shepherd to lead them to provision and protect them from danger. That’s why he could joyfully declare, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1 NKJV).

Today, the Lord is inviting you to draw near to Him, and He promises to meet you there: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8 NKJV). When you come boldly to His throne, you will “obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV).

Whatever you need today, whether it’s peace, provision, strength, or a fresh sense of His love, you’ll find it as you draw near to Him.

His Presence Brings Blessing

During King David’s reign, the ark of the covenant, the place of God’s presence among His people, rested for a season in the home of a man named Obed-Edom. Scripture tells us, “The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that he had” (1 Chronicles 13:14 NKJV).

We don’t have a physical ark today. We have something far better. When Jesus died on the cross, “the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom” (Matthew 27:51 NKJV). Through Christ, the way into God’s presence is open to you.

What God did for the household of Obed-Edom, He longs to do for you. His presence brings blessing!

Everything You Need Is Found in Him

God wants you to depend on Him every day. He desires to meet with you daily in His Word, in prayer, and in worship.

How can we expect to be nourished if we don’t spend time with Him? Many believers are spiritually malnourished without realizing it, missing the strength and peace God wants them to have. That begins to change when you choose to spend time with the Lord faithfully.

Whether you need healing, a financial breakthrough, freedom from fear and anxiety, or restoration with someone you love, God is able to meet that need in His presence. Your circumstances can be transformed in an instant.

Look at what happened to Jacob. After wrestling with the Lord through the night, he walked away with a new name, a new walk, and a new destiny (Genesis 32:24-31). He came seeking a blessing, and he left transformed.

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

King Jehoshaphat once faced an enemy army far larger than his own. Yet the Lord told him, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15 NKJV).

God’s strategy for victory was surprising. Jehoshaphat “appointed those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say, ‘Give thanks to the Lord, for his steadfast love endures forever.’ And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed” (2 Chronicles 20:21-22 ESV). Their enemies were completely defeated!

Worship is still a powerful weapon today. When you draw near to God in praise, you release the fear, anxiety, and confusion you’ve been carrying, and you’re reminded that He alone can solve your problems. His Spirit lifts you above your circumstances and assures you that He is in control of everything.

Your Miracle Begins in His Presence

As you go about your day, I encourage you to make time to pray and simply be with the Lord. No matter what you’re facing, you don’t have to carry anxiety or stress. God’s Word says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV).

Whatever your need may be, remember that your Heavenly Father loves you and keeps His promises. Even if you’ve been waiting a long time for a miracle, I’m praying with you that God’s answer is on the way. Draw near to Him today. His goodness is real, and His faithfulness is everlasting!

God bless you,

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it okay to ask God for a specific miracle?

Yes. When blind Bartimaeus called out to Jesus, the Lord asked him a direct question: “What do you want me to do for you?” (Mark 10:51 ESV). God already knows your need, but He invites you to bring it to Him honestly and specifically. Naming your request is an act of faith, not presumption.

What should I do while I’m waiting for my miracle?

Keep seeking the Lord rather than the answer alone. Stay in His Word, continue to worship, and hold on to the promises He’s given you. Scripture reminds us, “The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him” (Lamentations 3:25 ESV). It also helps to invite trusted believers to pray and stand in faith with you.

Why does it sometimes feel like God is delaying His answer?

God’s timing isn’t always our timing, and a delay isn’t a denial. He often uses seasons of waiting to strengthen our faith and deepen our dependence on Him. “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9 ESV).

How can I build a daily habit of spending time with God?

Start small and be consistent. Choose a set time each day, such as first thing in the morning, and find a quiet place without distractions. Read a short passage of Scripture, write down what stands out to you, and talk with God about what’s on your heart. Adding worship music or a devotional can help you stay focused.
