God’s Love Can Change Your Life!

The Bible tells the story of a lame man who used to sit outside the Temple gate. The man had been lame since birth, so he really didn’t expect anything to ever change his dismal circumstances.

There are many believers in today’s world who are in a similar predicament. They feel “stuck” in circumstances beyond their control. Instead of truly entering into God’s destiny for their lives, they languish outside the gate, worrying about their health, finances, relationships, or any other situation that keeps them from trusting God as the One who will intervene in their situation and meet their need.

Fortunately, the story of the lame man has a happy ending, and this can be true in your life as well. God wants you to encounter His love so He can transform you by His power. All the lame man could hope for that day was a handout, but God’s plan was to give him more. The man must have been shocked when Peter told him, In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” (Acts 3:6). Peter then “took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength” (v. 7).

God the Giver

Your Heavenly Father wants to lift you up the same ways the beggar was lifted. No matter how long you’ve been paralyzed in some area of your life, God wants to lift you out of it today. Even if you’ve grown used to a life of sadness and regret, all that can change in a moment of time.

Just as it didn’t take years of therapy for the lame man to recover, the Lord wants to transform you from seeing yourself as anything less than a child of God. When that happens, you’ll go from sitting aimlessly to “walking, leaping, and praising God” (v. 8).

When you have pursued your Heavenly Father in everything you do, you will grow by leaps and bounds. You’ll delight in going to Him to share your needs. You will recognize God as the Father who loves you; the one who beckons you to draw near.

God wants to show you His love and power today. He wants to change your life and remove any obstacle that’s hindering you from fulfilling your destiny. He desires to abundantly bless you so you can increasingly be a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2).

But first you must be at a place to meet Him. You must pursue Him, believing that He wants to graciously lead you on the pathway to His presence. Build a more intimate relationship with Him by spending more meaningful time with Him. Don’t let the worries of “now” prevent you from celebrating the promise of the Lord’s “tomorrow.”
