God Wants You Restored!

Everything we know about the enemy of our souls is pretty clear: He comes to steal, kill, and destroy everything in our lives (John 10:10). He comes to take away our property, our health, our prosperity, our family … essentially all that we hold personally dear to us.

But Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10 ESV). Our Lord and Savior will stand by us and undergird us with His power. Nothing can get in the way of His overwhelming love and passion for us. He is our redeemer and will always restore what was lost! Hallelujah!

Even though the thief may have robbed you, God wants to reinstate whatever has been pilfered in the past. Even while the thief is dividing the spoils, God wants to help you find renewal.

You see, God doesn’t sit idly by while we suffer. He’s not indifferent to our pain. If He were, He never would’ve given us His one and only Son. He wants us to live victoriously. He longs for us to experience His abundance and blessings. God’s heart is for our restoration. He’s a God of second chances and new beginnings, and He’s ready to renew our hope and fill us with the strength to face each day with confidence in His promises.

We see this in the story of Abraham in Genesis 14. When enemy forces captured his nephew Lot, Abraham didn’t hesitate. He rallied a small band of men and went after them. The result? He brought back everything—the people, the possessions, all that was taken. God gave Abraham victory and restored what the enemy had stolen.

David’s story in 1 Samuel 30 paints a similar picture. When he and his men returned to Ziklag, they found the Amalekites had raided their homes, taking their families captive. Devastated, they wept until they had no strength left. David was crushed, especially when his men turned against him, threatening to stone him. But David did something remarkable: He sought strength from the Lord. He didn’t let despair have the final word.

David prayed. He asked God for guidance. And then, just like Abraham, he went on the offensive. David didn’t sit back and accept defeat. He pursued the enemy and fought with everything he had. Scripture tells us, “David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away … nothing of theirs was lacking” (1 Samuel 30:18–19 NKJV). Not a
single thing.

That’s the kind of God we serve—a God who restores. He doesn’t just patch things up; He brings back what was lost. When the enemy comes to steal, God calls us to fight back with faith. We aren’t meant to sit in defeat. Like David, we can find our strength in the Lord, seek His wisdom, and go after what’s been taken. God is ready to bless us and make us whole again. Instead of surrendering to loss, it’s time to trust that He will help us begin again. And when God restores, He restores completely.
