Enjoy the Gift of Life

Don’t you think it’s time we believed God’s truth over the lies of the devil? The enemy wants you sick, he wants you down, he wants you depressed, he wants you hating life. In contrast, God wants you to have life and enjoy it to the fullest.

If you don’t believe me, take a look at John 10:10. The Amplified Bible translates Jesus’ words this way: “I come that you may have and enjoy life, have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”

Doesn’t that sound good? Life is a gift from your Heavenly Father, and it’s meant to be enjoyed. How sad it would be to receive a gift and not enjoy it!

Imagine what it would be like to find someone the perfect gift. But when you hand it to them, they show no gratitude and don’t even bother to unwrap it. That would be rather discouraging, wouldn’t it?

My friend, God has given you a beautiful gift called life, and He wants you to unwrap it, value it, and enjoy it. Here are three things you can do to help you make that happen:

Gain Wisdom

The Bible says wisdom is vital to a life of joy and blessing. In fact, just about every problem in life stems from a lack of wisdom. King Solomon described this well:

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you (Proverbs 4:7-9).

You see, God’s Word can give you wisdom for every area of your life, from the smallest things to the biggest things. So if you want to live your life to the fullest, investing in wisdom is a good place to start.

Expect God’s Favor

Luke 2:52 says, “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Just like Jesus, you can expect to walk in favor and blessing when you’re growing in wisdom. God’s favor can reverse your medical diagnosis or restore your broken relationship. In record time, it can eliminate your debts or bring a wayward son or daughter back to the Lord. Favor is one of the greatest things you will ever receive from God.

Live to Give

Do you want to be more blessed? Then remember Jesus’ words: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). God doesn’t bless you just so you can buy a bigger house or fancier car. He blesses you to make you a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2).

Be thankful if you have enough for yourself and your family today, but don’t be content with that. Don’t you know any missionaries preaching the Gospel in dangerous places or endeavoring to build an orphanage for babies with AIDS? Don’t you know any single moms needing a reliable vehicle? Couldn’t you give more to soul-winning organizations like Inspiration Ministries, which is transforming lives in over 200 nations and territories?

God is looking for people who love to give. He wants to pour out His blessing not only into you, but also through you. And if you truly live to give, you’ll receive back more than you ever thought possible (Luke 6:38, Proverbs 11:25).

When you cultivate a lifestyle of wisdom, favor, and living to give, you’ll begin to see God do incredible things for you and through you!
