Boldly Walking: Allow God to Be Your Strength

I’m Kim Crabill and I’m delighted to be with you today. I had a question asked to me not too long ago, and I think it really surprised the interviewer. She asked me, “Kim, what is the most unusual, most enlightening thing that God has spoken to you personally?” The Bible is filled with so many words that God rarely speaks to me on a personal basis something new, but He does that every once in a while.

But what I said surprised her: “I remember one time when I was very distraught and upset. I was crying, and I was really sad. I was reverting back to what I normally do (maybe you do it as well) — talking to myself. I remember saying to myself, ‘Kim, you’re okay. You’re okay. You’re really okay.’ And from the darkness of my depression, the darkness of where I was, I heard this whisper. It said — I knew it was God’s voice when He said — ‘Kim you’re not okay. You’re not okay, but you can be.’”

When I told the lady that was the most inspiring words I’d heard from God, she looked so confused. She asked, “How can that be inspiring to you? How could that make you feel good that God would whisper to you, ‘You’re not okay?’” I said, “That part I already knew. That part I knew because I knew in my heart what I was covering up to the world. But what made me feel so wonderful and what strengthened me was knowing that God knew where I was. And that God was saying, ‘Kim, you can be okay.’”

For all of us wherever you are today, whatever is going on in your life, no matter how weak you may feel, no matter the voices in your mind, I pray today that you will hear the same voices that you are okay. God says that He loved us when we were at our darkest: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for us” (John 3:16).

He says, “Cast your cares upon me because I care for you.” There’s no better picture for the world to see than for God to choose us in a time when we don’t feel okay and to come into our lives and fill us with being okay.

Wherever you are today my friends, pick up your Bible and in your weakness allow God to be your strength. Let God meet you right where you are. You may be thinking that you’re not okay, but God is saying, “I’m on your side, and I am with you. I am going to walk with you. You are going to be okay. As a matter of fact, you’re going to be better than okay. You’re a child of God.”

So, remember that in your weak moments and allow that to strengthen your walk today.
