Passover: Your Key to a Fruitful Season

I love how God uses nature to demonstrate His supernatural principles. Just as we are transitioning from winter to spring when plants begin to bloom and trees begin to bear fruit, God wants to bring you into a new season of another kind … a fruitful season!

He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness (Acts 14:17).

I hear from so many of our friends and Inspiration partners who’ve experienced difficult seasons recently in their health, finances, families, or peace of mind. But I have a powerful message for you today based on this Scripture.

The Lord wants to show you His goodness …
send you His rain from Heaven …
and bring you into a fruitful season as
you’ve never experienced before!

God has special days and seasons on His calendar. This month we will celebrate the Feast of Passover, one of His three Appointed Times each year to bless His people with supernatural blessings and breakthroughs (see Exodus 23 and Leviticus 23).

Along with the Feasts of Pentecost and Tabernacles, Passover is one of three “holy convocations” – special times of the year that we’re to celebrate FOREVER – “throughout your generations” (Leviticus 23:21).

Sadly, I believe many Christians today have been robbed of God’s blessings by failing to celebrate the feasts of the Lord. They mistakenly believe the feasts were for the children of Israel to celebrate and not for us. They believe the feasts were for then and not for now.

While it’s true that the children of Israel celebrated the feasts of the Lord, the Lord calls these special dates on the calendar “MY appointed times,” days meant to be set aside for HIM.

God says He wants to meet with us during these three Appointed Times … to receive our praise, our worship, and our offerings. He promises if we faithfully observe these special seasons, He will bless us in unique and specific ways.

Are You Experiencing His Blessings?

In Exodus 23, God promises specific Passover blessings to you if you will obey Him, celebrate Passover, and come before Him with a special Passover offering. He will send an angel before you to guard you … be an enemy to your enemies … bless you with provision … remove sickness from you … prevent barrenness and miscarriages … give you a long life … and make you fruitful. And this is just the beginning.

In addition to these seven specific promises, each of God’s Appointed Times offers you an unparalleled opportunity to enter a NEW LEVEL OF FRUITFULNESS and harvest blessings!

Would you like to claim these amazing promises for you and your family? As you come before the Lord with your Passover offering, I believe God wants you to exercise your faith to believe Him for more … and release His Passover blessings in your life!

Referring to the covenant blessings offered during the Feasts of Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles, Deuteronomy 16:16 says, “They shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed.” Yes, God put conditions on His promises.

The celebration of these three feasts represents a cycle of giving and receiving between God and His people … a cycle of seedtime and harvest. From Passover to Pentecost … from Pentecost to Tabernacles … from Tabernacles back to Passover – the Israelites obeyed the Lord and experienced a wonderful rhythm of His supernatural blessings.

Today, I feel God is asking us to take a step of faith and obedience in this Passover season. He wants us to come before His throne to honor Him with our worship … prepare a special offering for Him … and trust Him that our fruitful season will begin!

About a week before Jesus died on the cross during Passover, a woman named Mary brought Jesus a special offering. I think it’s a challenging example for us all.

While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.

Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume? It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages and the money given to the poor.” And they rebuked her harshly.

“Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.”

Jesus ends with a tremendous statement, “What she has done will also be told, in memory of her” (Mark 14:3-9 NIV).

The Word I’m sharing today is proof of that! A parallel account in the Gospel of John identifies the woman and brings out some other aspects of what took place:

Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume (John 12:3).

As you ponder this story, I want to ask you a personal question. Are you willing to be sacrificially generous in your devotion to Jesus?

When you bring a special Passover offering to the Lord, you are demonstrating your trust and belief in your loving Heavenly Father. He WILL bring you into a fruitful season.

He Deserves Your Best

Mary didn’t just give God her leftovers or hand-me-downs. She gave something that cost her something … something precious. Likewise, God gave the most sacrificial gift possible when He sent Jesus to die for your sins. He held nothing back. He gave it all.

How should you respond to God’s generous love? Quite simply, you should be generous as well. You should hold nothing back from Him, nor should you keep the blessings He’s given you. Don’t come before the Lord empty handed this Passover season. Bring Him your best, and He will do the same for you.

I’m convinced that if you need a breakthrough in your body … your relationship with the Lord … your marriage … your children … your emotions … or your finances, this is your opportunity to obey God and receive His covenant promises!

I am standing with you, believing God to give you amazing breakthroughs during this very special season on His calendar. But don’t procrastinate! The sooner you take a step of faith to obey the Lord, the sooner you’ll have your breakthrough harvest.

God Bless You,

David Sig
