God’s Promise as We Celebrate Our Fathers

Today we give special honor to our fathers. The Bible says it’s very important to honor our father and mother. So important that the Lord makes some very special promises when we do so: “…that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth” (Ephesians 6:2-3).
Here is an interesting fact: Of all the descriptions God could have given us, He chose to reveal Himself as our HEAVENLY FATHER.
Exactly what kind of Father is God? The Bible declares that He’s a loving, generous, and kind Father, one who yearns to “give good things to those who ask Him” (Matthew 7:7-11).
Barbara and I are praying for you today, asking our loving Heavenly Father to reveal Himself to you more deeply than ever before. While we celebrate this special day, we realize this holiday can be a difficult time when there has been family strife, abuse, or the death of loved ones.
