A Thanksgiving Miracle: How God Answered a 23-Year Prayer for Salvation

A Miracle 23 Years in the Making

For 23 long years, Kathy prayed for her husband, Jimmy, to give his life to Christ. Every Thanksgiving reminded her of God’s blessings—but also the ache of an unanswered prayer. Still, she refused to give up.

“Every year, I prayed the same prayer,” Kathy said. “I asked God to save my husband.” 

Despite decades of tears and heartache, Jimmy’s heart remained closed. He wouldn’t even let her talk about God. But Kathy kept standing in faith, trusting that the Lord could reach him—even when nothing seemed to change.

A Holiday Burden … and a Step of Faith

One day, while watching a special program on Inspiration Ministries, Kathy heard a message about sowing a $58 monthly seed and assigning it to a specific need. Her finances were tight, and fear whispered that she couldn’t afford to give.

“Even though I didn’t feel like I could afford it, the Holy Spirit told me to do it anyway,” Kathy shared. “The devil was screaming, ‘You’re crazy! You won’t be able to pay your bills!’”

But Kathy obeyed God’s prompting. She sowed the seed and assigned it for her husband’s salvation. It was her act of faith—and it opened the door for a miracle.

The Thanksgiving Day Transformation

Three months later—on Thanksgiving Day—God answered her 23-year prayer. Jimmy gave his heart to Jesus. 

“Now he’s a completely changed person,” Kathy said joyfully. “The time since my husband’s salvation has been the most wonderful time in my life!”

What seemed impossible for decades changed in a single moment of God’s grace. Kathy believes her obedience and faith became the bridge for Jimmy’s salvation.
