A Mother’s Day Message

For many people, one of the most supportive people in their life is their mother. God has placed compassion and tenderness in the heart of mothers – along with a strong instinct of protection.

We see the love of God in the kindness and understanding of a mother.

It was a mother, young Mary, to whom God entrusted the care and nurturing of His Son, Jesus. When Jesus first stepped into his earthly ministry it was his mother who introduced him at the wedding in Cana.

Seeing that there was no more wine, Mary told the caretakers, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

This admonition from Jesus’ mother echoes through the ages to us today. Mary knew that if they heeded the words of Jesus they would receive a tremendous blessing – and they certainly did. The wine that came from the water in the vats was the best served at that festive occasion.

On this Mother’s Day, as you act on the words of Jesus, I pray that His abundant blessings would be poured out in your life as it was in Cana.
