God Always Heals

Isn’t it comforting to know that Scripture, the testimony of saints, and human experience all testify to the truth that God always heals?

In fact, Scripture is full of verses that describe His great love for us which manifests in His desire to heal. Here are a few:

  • I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with loving-kindness (Jeremiah 31:3).
  • But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (Ephesians 2:5).
  • If you give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you … for I am the LORD your healer (Exodus 15:26).

While it is absolutely true that God always heals us, it is equally true that there are things we do that can block his healing power from making us healthy and whole in our spirit, soul, and body.

What Can Block God’s Desire to Heal?

There are several areas where you can hinder God’s healing from flowing in your life. These range from unbelief and pride, to sin and fear (with several more in between)! And while no single area stands dominant over any other, each should be explored to determine if it exists within your life.

If you have been actively pursuing God’s healing for some time and it hasn’t come, there are a few things you can immediately explore.

Seek Humility

As a first step, humble yourself before the Lord and find out if He is allowing you to suffer physically as a result of sin, in order to bring you to a place of repentance before him.

It’s made clear in James 5:16 that the relationship between receiving your health and your sin is distinct:

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Offer Him Your Prayers
Inspiration Ministries not only believes in the healing power of prayer, but we have prayer ministers available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to help you take the next step, since it’s often difficult to think clearly, pray, or hear God’s voice when your spirit, soul, and body have been distracted.
