Your Prayers

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

In an awe-inspiring moment, the Lamb “broke the seventh seal”; suddenly, there was “silence in Heaven for about half an hour” (v. 1). An angel stood before God’s altar, holding a golden censer. He was given “much incense…so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints” (v. 3).

The smoke of that incense, along with the “prayers of the saints” (v. 3), rose up before God. We can picture waves of the prayers of men and women from every nation – short prayers, long prayers, intense prayers, simple prayers, salvation prayers, and prayers about trials and persecution, personal and family problems, and world conditions.

As this incense rose before God, “the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth.” Thus, the prayers of God’s people played a pivotal role in fulfilling God’s plan and changing the course of history.

So often we might feel that our prayers don’t matter. But the Bible reminds us that God hears our prayers – every one of them. And as Revelation reminds us, every prayer makes a difference in the lives of people and in the course of nations.

Today, join with people throughout the world. Spend time in prayer. Pray for your needs and your family, for your country and the world, and for revival. Picture your prayers rising before God like sweet-smelling incense, pleasing to Him, changing the world.
