Working with Joy

The Bible reminds us of something very ironic. Many people are driven to gain riches and accumulate resources. But if they achieve these goals, they find themselves still loaded with burdens. They have more things, but they also have more worries. And they don’t have joy.

The Bible tells us that God can do something supernatural: Not only can He meet our needs and bless us abundantly. He also can give us joy and the ability to enjoy our lives and the things He gives us.

The Bible tells us that God actually can enable us to take joy in our work. Our attitude changes when
we focus on Him. The Bible teaches us, “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”
(Colossians 3:23).

God wants to remove our burdens, stress, and worry, and give us His joy. As the Bible says, it is His gift to give us the power to rejoice in our labor, and give us joy in our hearts.

Are you carrying burdens? Filled with worries? The Bible tells us that God is ready to take all your burdens away. As Jesus taught, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). We are to cast all of our cares on Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

Remember that God stands ready to bless you and give you joy. But the choice is up to you. Today, work as unto the Lord and let Him give you His joy in your labor.
