Why? Where? How?

Gideon was filled with questions. God called him to deliver Israel from the Midianites, but he was skeptical and saw nothing but problems. God might have declared that Gideon was the “valiant warrior” (v. 12), but Gideon thought of himself as weak and incapable. He could not imagine effecting success or victory.

Finally, when he stopped arguing, complaining, and asking for signs (and started believing, obeying, and acting in faith), God kept His promise, transforming him into a mighty warrior who delivered Israel from the Midianites.

God was demonstrating how He wants all of us to respond to His Word: trust and believe Him, regardless of how things appear. Move forward in faith, believing Him for the results. Be confident in Him, even when we know our weaknesses. Never to be discouraged or doubt Him, but believe His Word!

Today, remember that God has a call on you. He is with you and promises never to leave or forsake you. With Him at your side, there is no reason to be discouraged, afraid, or worried. You don’t have to be concerned about the size of your problems or the number of tasks you face.

Right now, renew your commitment to obey Him. Believe Him for favor and success. Allow Him to remove your fears. Move forward boldly. Don’t give excuses, but confess His Word and believe His promises. Trust your life, and the outcome, to Him.
