What You Know

How can anyone really be sure of anything? The world is filled with people with opinions. We hear them every day through the media, in the news, on TV programs, and on social media in our homes and neighborhoods. Experts tell us what they think. Politicians give their spin on world conditions. We can be overwhelmed with rumors and gossip.

In this environment, it can be hard to know what to believe.

But Paul told Timothy that he had certainty. He knew whom he believed. He had trusted his life to Jesus. He was not worried about what other people might say or do. He was not concerned about world conditions or even his own life.

The Bible says you should know that Jesus died for your sins, that He sent the Holy Spirit to be your comforter, and that He loves you and has a great plan for your life. You can trust His promises to lift your burdens, provide for your needs, and answer anytime you call upon Him. You can be confident that Satan and his demonic forces already are defeated, and that, through Jesus, you are victorious!

Today, think about what you know. Do not let the world shape your mind and heart or allow you to feel discouraged, worried, afraid, or inadequate. Declare God’s promises to be true, and realize that they are true for you, right now!
