Unclaimed Inheritance

The office of treasurer for the state of Illinois is just one of many government agencies that try to help people receive money and resources that already are theirs. The treasurer has stated, “Every year businesses and governments send millions of dollars to my office. It is all wealth that people have forgotten about, lost, or never knew they had. Our job is to get it all back to the rightful owners. After all it’s your money, and I want you to have it.”

To help in this effort, this and other government offices have full-time staffs. Many web sites have been created to educate people about these funds. Yet most money remains unclaimed. Why? Because people are not aware that their unclaimed inheritance even exists.

They don’t realize that more blessings are there waiting for them. That already have been prepared for them. They simply have to ask for it. And seek it.

When the children of Israel entered the Promised Land, they were claiming an inheritance that God had given them. Yet some tribes failed to receive their inheritance. Why? Some were afraid and lacked faith. Some believed that the obstacles were too great, or that it was not possible to receive all God had promised them. So, they never received their inheritance.

Many Christians have the same experience. God has given them His Word. He has given them promises that are true for them. He has given them the power of the Holy Spirit. He has plans for their lives. Yet they fail to take advantage of this inheritance and are content to live with failure and temptation, weakness and discouragement, fear and sickness.

Today, do not let your inheritance as a child of God remain unclaimed. Declare His Word to be true in your life. Believe it. Act on it.
