The Seasons of Our Lives

The Seasons of Our Lives

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

As we approach the end of a year, we can become more sensitive to the passing seasons in our lives. Thinking about the past, we can become anxious, more conscious of the rapid pace of time, and even our own mortality. We can wonder what the future holds.

But the Bible reminds us that the signs of the seasons are symbols of God’s “provident care.” Instead of focusing on the signs themselves, these seasons should help us think about God Himself and His timelessness.

As we read His Word, we realize that change is an integral part of His creation. He said that “seasons, days, and years” (v. 14) are signs that indicate the passing of time. The Bible urges us to remember that seasons will change, but so will other aspects of life. Kingdoms inevitably rise and fall. Styles and trends change. Leaders come and go.

But God remains the same. As He told Malachi, “I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6).

As you go through the seasons of life, seek to recognize the work that God is doing in your life. Seek clarity for the goals that He has given you, and dedicate yourself to fulfilling His call.

He might allow things to take place that might seem challenging or difficult. At times, you might feel stretched or overwhelmed. But the Bible urges us to realize that these experiences are only for a season; they will not last forever.

Today, ask God to help you be trustworthy in the season of life in which He has you right now. Make it your prayer that you might be faithful to Him.
