The Proof

Many people say they are Christians and claim to believe. They think they are “born again” (John 3:3). The question is, have their lives really been changed? Are they really new creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17)? What is the proof?

The Bible makes it clear that we are not saved by our “works.” That our relationship with Jesus is based on faith, and the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8). Jesus also made clear that we are not to pray to impressnoticed (Matthew 6:1-8).

Yet the Bible also explains that we demonstrate that we have been changed by what we do and say. That we prove our faith through our actions. As Jesus taught us, we are to “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Throughout our lives, we have many opportunities to respond. Other people are watching, but so is God. To see if we trust Him and have faith even in challenging situations. What we do when we face uncertainties and challenges? Do we believe that His Word is true, and act with confidence? Or do we allow ourselves to conform to the world around us? Are we really walking by faith, or dominated by circumstances?

In your life, don’t just say you believe, but act with faith. If you have doubts, talk with God. Be honest. Grow stronger by confessing His Word. Declare it to be true. Then move forward in faith, step-by-step, in practical ways. Confident and bold. Putting His Word into practice for all to see.
