The Power of a Bold Testimony

The power of a bold testimony is seen in Joseph’s life. When we trust God openly, His presence and blessings become undeniable.

“Now his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all that he did prosper in his hand.”—Genesis 39:3 NASB

It would have been easy for Joseph to be bitter. After all, he’d been sold into slavery by his own brothers. Instead of enjoying riches and pleasures in his father’s household, he was a slave in a foreign land. Although in a seemingly hopeless situation, Joseph developed an even more intimate relationship with God, for “the Lord was with him” even in Egypt.

His master, Potiphar, could see that God was with Joseph, who openly acknowledged his trust in God and sought God’s guidance for the issues he faced … and God blessed him!

It’s easy to be silent about our faith because we fear ridicule and criticism or worry about what others may think or say. But the example of Joseph shows that God is ready to bless those who are bold witnesses. As Jesus promised, “Everyone who confesses Me before people, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32).

Remember that Almighty God is with you. Develop an intimate, personal relationship with Him. Seek first His Kingdom. If you become discouraged, don’t give up, but call on Him. If you face seemingly hopeless circumstances, remember that God is by your side. If you don’t know what to do, ask Him for wisdom.

Declare God’s promises to be true in your life. Be a bold witness, ready to share your testimony, giving God the praise and glory.
