The Love of the Father

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

Christmas is about love. It is a powerful revelation of how much God loves us. Yes, the God who created the universe is not a distant deity; in fact, He is love (1 John 4:8).

We learn so much about God from the Christmas story, for this begins the ultimate demonstration of His love. Father God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus into this world that “whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

In the passage above, John says we can also see God’s great love by the fact “that we would be called children of God.”

This incredible love should frame our attitude and perspective. It demonstrates that God delights to bless us and fellowship with us…to reveal deeper truths and guide us…and to fulfill His promises to us. It was this love that amazed John. It amazed him that God loves us so much that we would be called His children, for He has a wonderful plan for our lives and has prepared a glorious future for us in eternity.

All around us, we see cynicism and sin. We see wars and mounting problems. We see human weaknesses everywhere.

But God is different! He has all wisdom. He knows the present and the future. Christmas reminds us of all that He reveals to those who have childlike faith. He’s faithful to keep His promises!

This Christmas, celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Savior and risen King. Also, don’t forget to celebrate the Father’s love for you. Worship Him, thank Him, and show His amazing love to others.
