The God of Creation

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

The God of creation holds all knowledge and reveals His truth in His time. Seek Him with your whole heart and trust in His wisdom.

“It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to live in.”—Isaiah 40:22 NASB

Modern scientists continue to marvel at the accomplishments of Eratosthenes. Born in Cyrene, in modern-day Libya, in 276 BC, he gained fame as the director of the library in Alexandria, Egypt. Many of his discoveries were centuries ahead of their time.

Perhaps his most remarkable achievement was announced in 240 BC. Authors Justine Pollard and Howard Reid write: “Using just a stick, a well, and a royal pacer, he … proved the earth was a globe and measured its circumference to within 318 kilometers (198 miles) of its true diameter while never leaving Egypt.”

Eratosthenes possessed a brilliant mind. But he was discovering truths that are part of God’s creation. Centuries earlier, Isaiah wrote how God “sits above the circle of the earth.” The Lord had shown His prophet that the earth was not flat, but rather an orb.

It’s hard to imagine all the secrets that are yet to be discovered. Insights about science and geography … communications and travel … health and mathematics. God still has all knowledge. He is still sovereign. And He looks for people who will seek Him with their whole hearts, believe that all things are possible, and boldly dare to act in faith.

God has more to reveal! Seek Him with your whole heart. Seek deeper truths and revelations from His Word.

Ask God to give you more wisdom and understanding. Remember, all things are possible for those who have faith in Him!
