The God No One Can Rival

When you remember the God no one can rival, it reshapes everything—calling you to lay down pride and honor Him as the only true authority over your life.

“Who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me?” (Jeremiah 50:44).

Many people thought they could put God on trial. They felt they could judge Him, attack Him, and criticize or reject His Word. But God called them to remember that He’s the Creator … the Lord of the universe … the final Judge and Jury for all people, everywhere.

Throughout history, people and nations have ignored these warnings, exalting themselves over God. Demanding their own way, they’ve ignored Him and rejected His Word, disobeyed and mocked Him. Yet not one of these human efforts has changed this basic fact: God is God! There is none like Him. He is completely unique.

We see expressions of God’s unique character throughout the Bible: in His act of creation; in His giving of the Ten Commandments; and as He delivered the Israelites from bondage in Egypt, parted the Red Sea, and led them in conquest of the Promised Land. We see His sovereignty at work as Jesus was raised from the dead; in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost; and in miracle after miracle.

Don’t try to mold God to fit your own ideas. Begin this day and every day by reminding yourself that He is God. You are His creation, and you owe everything to Him. Humble yourself before Him. Remember to place Him above everyone and everything else.

Don’t seek to bring Him down to your level, but honor and worship Him as God Almighty!
