The Blessings of Persistence

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

How easy it can be to become discouraged! Sometimes we can look at our lives and see nothing but problems. It can seem that we haven’t experienced the answers to prayer we have expected. We can conclude that we’ll never receive the blessings God has promised.

In these moments, we must remember Bible principles, especially the law of Sowing and Reaping. This is such common sense! The farmer may Sow Seeds in the spring, but he knows that Seeds require time to develop. His abundant Harvest won’t come until autumn: “in due time.”

Paul used this phrase to describe the waiting process for Reaping a Harvest in our lives. We must be patient, for the Harvest won’t come until the right season and right time.

It can be easy to forget these seasons of Sowing and Reaping. If we wonder why we still haven’t Reaped a Harvest, we must stop and remember the seasons of life. There are seasons to plant…seasons to wait (when it seems that nothing is happening)…seasons to Reap a Harvest…and joyous seasons of great fulfillment.

This law applies to every part of our lives. If we want a Harvest, we need to Sow Seeds. And we must remember that “whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” If we want love, we need to Sow Seeds of love. If we want forgiveness, we need to forgive. If we want financial blessings, we need to give financially to the work of God. But there also are negative consequences when we Sow the wrong kinds of Seeds and Reap such things as doubt, failure, sickness, and defeat.

Remember the importance of persistence as you apply the law of Seedtime and Harvest. God promises a Harvest, but you must not “lose heart” or “grow weary.”

In your life, remember that God wants to bless you. Don’t give up. Stay faithful. Keep Sowing Seeds, and your Harvest WILL come!
