The Answer Is Jesus

“I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11 NASB

The message the angel declared to the shepherds was packed with truths. But the simple truth was that Jesus was the answer.

The angel declared that He was the Savior, the One who would save His people. From their sins and sicknesses. From hopelessness. From worries and fears.

He also was the Christ. The Messiah. The One who fulfilled God’s promises, demonstrating that He knew all that His people had gone through and would meet every need.

He was the Lord. He was not like other prophets or teachers, but actually the sovereign Master, bringing a new dimension of authority and revelation.

Jesus, too, was the answer for the magi. Traveling from far-off lands, they knew they were looking for the “king of the Jews.” And when they followed the star, it led them to the infant Jesus. They knew that He was the answer to their quest. That He was the King they had come to worship, worthy of their gifts. That He was worth the commitment they had made.

And Jesus was the answer for the angels. Who knew that this was “good news” that would bring joy to people everywhere. That because of Jesus they would give “Glory to God in the highest.” He was the reason to celebrate.

Jesus still is the answer. And He invites us to follow Him. To trust Him. To declare Him the Lord of our lives. To see Him as the fulfillment of God’s eternal plans. To realize that serving Him gives us peace and purpose. That He can heal every disease and deliver us from any sin. That He has power over the enemy.

He is the King. The Christ. The Savior. The Lord.
