Stubborn

Think about this fact: God, the Creator and Ruler of the entire universe, offers us His “riches.” Here Paul specifically spoke of the riches of God’s “kindness, tolerance, and patience.” But these are just some of the riches He promises us. Paul also reminded us that “God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). And he prayed that we would know “what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:18). What glorious promises!

Yet many people fail to receive the riches He has prepared for them. Why? Some simply are stubborn and have hearts that are “unrepentant.” Determined to go their own way, they’re not willing to change. Locked into this attitude, many simply reject the idea of salvation, while others totally reject God Himself.

But everything changes when we recognize our need of God and acknowledge that He still is sovereign…our Creator…the righteous Judge…and the Lord over all. Transformation comes when we recognize our weaknesses, sins, and failures, positioning ourselves to receive His forgiveness and cleansing, His power and mercy. Our lives change when we truly believe and are saved!

However, many Believers still fail to receive the riches God offers them. In their own way, they are stubborn. They’re set in their ways, with lives shaped by destructive habits and worldly customs.

Today, allow God to search your heart and mind. Do you really believe that He has prepared riches for you? Are your thoughts shaped by your faith in Him or by the opinions of the world around you?

Don’t allow stubbornness to block the flow of His blessings! Receive all the riches God has prepared for you.
