Stress and Vision

Stress and Vision

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

Stress is a reality of modern life. It mounts as we mull over problems or worry about finances or relationships. As we think about decisions we must make or world problems.

Stress impacts us in many ways. It is known to cause many health problems. It impacts our nervous systems, affecting our brain and eyes, which may lead to conditions such as glaucoma, neuropathy, and even a complete loss of vision.

Many things can contribute to poor vision. Jesus reminded us that each of us has choices, that we can take action to deal with stress and remove the things that impact how we see.

First, we are to devote ourselves to prayer, committing every need to God. This means realizing that, as we trust Him, we don’t have to worry. His Word tells us that we need to tell Him “every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer.” As we do, His peace “will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 Philips).

Next, don’t let your heart be troubled, but trust in Jesus, for He is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Cast all your cares on Him, confident that “He cares for you
(1 Peter 5:7). Trust in Him “with all your heart,” and “lean not on your own understanding.” Acknowledge Him in every situation, confident that He will guide you (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Don’t be afraid. Live for God. Trust Him. Believe Him.
