Sick Bodies and Worried Minds

Sick Bodies and Worried Minds

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

David was experiencing serious problems with his health and emotions. His worldview had become dark and he was filled with a sense of foreboding and even hopelessness. In these discouraging times, his thoughts turned toward the Lord. He expressed his situation with a prayer filled with the honest concerns of his heart, and his real-life troubles.

Reading his words, we feel his desperation: “My body is sick, and I am upset and disturbed. My mind is filled with apprehension and with gloom.” He had become “worn out with pain.” He shed tears every night, and his eyes were “growing old and dim with grief because of all my enemies.

These words sound so realistic that we might assume that they were said by someone in our time. In every sense, he urgently needed many miracles. How did he respond? In his need, he called out to God. When he did, David became confident that He would answer his cry.

There are many options when we face problems. We can complain, become worried or depressed. We can look for escapes or wallow in gloom. But, if we follow David’s example, we will turn to God, and remember that He always is with us and ready to help. He can give us a whole new attitude and replace darkness with light. He can deliver us and provide whatever we need.

Do you face challenges? Health or financial problems? Relationship uncertainties? Questions about your future? In every situation, cry out to God with honest prayer. Have faith that He will hear you, answer your prayer, deliver you, heal your body, and give you His peace.
