Satan’s Strategy

As we look at the world, it can seem that Satan is winning. Christians may seem defeated, discouraged, divided, and outnumbered. We often feel that we’ve lost the battle.

But the fact is that Satan already is a defeated foe. In fact, the Bible says that the devil comes down to earth with “great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time” (Revelation 12:12). Knowing that his time is short, he throws himself into warfare, trying to trick us into feeling defeated.

He fights fiercely, attacking anyone who is vulnerable. He seeks to manipulate the media. He plants false ideas that sound true but lead us away from God. He spreads lies and gossip. He fosters rebellion in families, breaks up marriages, and causes children to reject their parents. He tempts and lures us into sin. Yet the fact is that he already has lost!

Remember, you will be attacked. Attacks might come in ways that surprise you, in moments when you are vulnerable, and in places where you have weaknesses. Don’t take this lightly! Be sure to be on guard.

Fill your life with God’s Word. Do this today and every day. Pray. And pray in the Spirit. Stay faithful to God’s call for you. Avoid places, ideas, and people that can tempt you into sin. Commit your time, talents, and treasures to serve God and further His Kingdom.
