Samson’s Bad Choices

Samson’s Bad Choices

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries1 Minutes

A man of towering physical strength, Samson didn’t realize that, in many ways, he was weak and vulnerable. Confident in himself, he allowed himself to indulge in a night of pleasure with a harlot in Gaza. Then, he fell in love with Delilah, who enticed him to reveal the secret of his strength.

His story reminds us that, no matter our characteristics or experience, all of us need God. In ourselves, we are vulnerable. If we need help, we can draw on His strength. But like Samson, we might suffer the consequences if we let down our guard and go our own way.

God still loves us if we fall, but we will reap what we sow. And we all have weaknesses that make us vulnerable. Every day, we face opportunities to look to God for wisdom. Receive His discernment about the people and situations we face. Pray and read His Word. We need to be alert and commit every situation to God. Seek to obey Him and be sensitive to His Spirit. If we don’t, we may ignore Him, go our own way, and fail to realize the traps all around us.

Don’t waste the opportunities God has given you or take Him for granted. Submit your life to Him. Live according to His Word. Ask Him for wisdom to make the right choices. Let Him guide and protect you and fulfill His purpose for you.
