Restored and Turned Around

All of us make mistakes. No matter how we try, we all “sin and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). When we disobey the Lord or fall short of His desires for us, we can feel separated from His presence and even sense His disappointment, correction, or anger.

If this happens, we can become afraid or worried. We can feel concerned and even defeated. But we don’t have to wallow in our failures. In fact, through God’s mercy, He seeks to restore us. He wants to replace our worries with His peace, and replace our sense of failure with gratitude for His mercy and grace.

Just like Isaiah, our hearts can be filled with praise. We praise Him when we realize that He has restored and comforted us. We give Him thanks that He is our salvation and we don’t have to be afraid. Worship fills our hearts, because He is our strength and our song. Thanks to Him, we can “draw water from the wells of salvation” with joy (v. 3). If we have needs, questions, or problems, we always can call upon Him.

Today, if you feel distant from God, confess your sins and be restored. He can turn around any situation you might face. Your fellowship with Him can be renewed.

Let the Lord replace turmoil and fear with peace and reassurance. Praise His name, for He has done excellent things. He is your loving Father, and His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).
