Reaching All the World

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

The disciples of Jesus were serious about fulfilling the Great Commission. He had told them that they were to go on a mission to “make disciples of all nations.”

Think what it took for them to bring the Gospel to people in “all nations!” Paul, in fact, traveled by land and sea on journeys lasting for weeks in often perilous conditions. He described being shipwrecked and many other kinds of danger.

Today, through the miracle of satellite communications we can reach what was their known world in an instant. That era of instant communications began on this day in 1962 when a signal from the United States was sent to Europe via the Telstar I satellite. It was the first transatlantic television transmission. Now, thanks to this technology, signals constantly are being beamed simultaneously throughout the world.

The disciples of Jesus could not have imagined that such a technology ever would be possible. Yet now we can cover the whole world in just a moment, even reaching into countries that prohibit any missionary work.

This is not just an assignment for ministries or churches. All followers of Jesus should remember His command to go and teach all nations. In fact, each of us has a role to play in fulfilling this Great Commission.

What can you do? First, pray. Pray for a move of God’s Spirit. That doors would be open. That hearts would be moved and lives changed. Ask God to show you how you can give of your time, talent, and treasure. Believe that, together, we can change the world and bring the Gospel to all nations!
