Prepared for Miracles

The storm was so severe that the disciples feared for their lives. Then they were startled to the point of terror when they saw Jesus walking on the water. As He entered the boat, the wind that had been so threatening simply became still. Their reaction was astonishment! Jesus’ control over the weather utterly amazed them!

One reason they were so amazed is because “their hearts had grown callous.” They were not prepared for the kind of power and authority that He brought to their crisis. They did not understand what Jesus could do in their lives.

The same thing can happen to each of us. We can become caught up in our own problems and focused on our personal storms and trials. We, too, can become callous and cold and not realize what God can do for us. Throughout every situation, God is ready to perform miracles. But we need to be careful not to allow our hearts to be hardened against the effects of our difficulties.

In your life, have faith that God wants to deliver you from the storms you face and perform miracles for you. Do not allow your heart to grow callous, but ask Him to help you understand His Word and be sensitive to His Spirit. Remember that with God, all things are possible. Have faith in Him today and be prepared for His miracle-working power.
