Prepared

Preparation. A vital step in the success of any venture. Preparation can mean going through rigorous training, studying the situation, and honing your message. It can mean taking the time to develop the best strategy, being ready physically and mentally, gathering the necessary resources, and knowing the right moment to act.

John the Baptist demonstrated this principle through his ministry. He simply was called to prepare the way. Jesus, too, waited for everything to be prepared. The trigger was when John was arrested. At that moment, He could say, “the time is fulfilled” (Mark 1:14- 15). It was time to go into action.

The Bible makes clear that God is concerned about timing. “For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.” In fact, God “has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11).

The key to receiving God’s fullest blessings is to act at just the right time. His time. The key is to wait until everything is ready. How do we know the right time? As Jesus demonstrated, it means being in tune with God, being sensitive to His leading, and being a person of prayer. It’s listening and being ready to act when He says circumstances are right and everything is prepared.

Ask God to help you be sensitive to His timing. Make sure you are prepared for His call. Always listen to His Spirit. Always seek to be willing and ready.
