Growing

All of us begin our spiritual lives as we do our physical lives – as babies. We must be “born again” as new creatures in God’s Kingdom. But some people never develop beyond this “baby” stage. For many different reasons, they remain babies and stay that way.

The Bible makes clear: God wants all of us to grow in our spiritual lives. He wants us to move beyond the stage in which we live on spiritual milk. He wants us to advance and start eating more of the “meat” of the Gospel. He wants us to mature and fulfill more of the possibilities and commands of His Kingdom.

The Bible gives us vivid descriptions of the riches God has prepared for us. God wants to reveal so much to us. There is so much more for us to know! As Paul said, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out” (Romans 11:33)!

No matter how many years we have been Christians, how well we know the Bible, or what our position is in the world or the church, we can always learn and grow more. God has more to reveal to us.

In your life, make a commitment to grow. Cry out to Him that He would reveal more of His truth, wisdom, and unsearchable riches!
