God’s Wisdom

God’s wisdom is so much more than we will ever realize.

“To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach … the unfathomable riches of Christ … so that the multifaceted wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.”—Ephesians 3:8–10 NASB

Highly intelligent. Trained by the finest Jewish scholars. Experienced in business. Widely traveled. Truly Paul was brilliant and uniquely qualified! Yet he recognized he still was “the very least of all saints.” And despite all his knowledge, he couldn’t even begin to understand God’s wisdom. Nevertheless, Paul sought to explain God’s truth in terms his readers could understand.

No matter how much we understand, we must go further—much further! We need to stretch our minds. As Paul recognized, the riches of Christ are “unfathomable,” beyond our comprehension, filled with mysteries, and so deep we can’t even trace their origins.

We might think we understand God, but Paul learned that even the wisest and most mature believer has a limited understanding of who God is. The Lord’s wisdom is “multifaceted.” There are many sides to God’s wisdom! What we know about His wisdom may be true, but there are other sides we have yet to see or imagine.

Today, pause and ask God to stretch your mind. Let Him open new possibilities, showing you new truths about His Kingdom. His wisdom and the riches available in Christ are beyond anything you can imagine.

Humble yourself before Him. Recognize His amazing grace in reaching out to you in Christ. Thank Him for sharing His vast spiritual riches with you. And allow Him to help you grasp more of the many facets of His wisdom.
