God’s Way

The young actor seemed to have everything. He had risen to fame quickly, starring in several popular films. He had fallen in love with a beautiful actress, and like many in our culture, they had chosen to live together, secretly at first. Gradually, their relationship became public knowledge as they began appearing together as a “couple.” Few seemed bothered by their lifestyle. In fact, many saw them as role models for the new morality.

But suddenly everything changed. The actress was caught having a “fling” with a film director. She apologized, claiming that the affair was a “momentary indiscretion” and the actor was the one “I love and respect the most.”

Yet the actor was devastated and went into hiding. The actress temporarily went into seclusion as well.

This couple had based their lives on assumptions that have become all too common throughout society—promoting a lifestyle without commitment and believing that we don’t need to be concerned about God, His Word, or His principles for family relationships.

In fact, many feel that the Bible is old-fashioned. They claim that happiness only can be found in rejecting Biblical standards and doing whatever they want. They feel they should be free to satisfy their own curiosity and momentary desires, that concepts like fidelity, faithfulness, and commitment are no longer relevant.

These worldly ideas may sound attractive, but eventually we all discover that God’s way is the best way—the only way to true and lasting fulfillment. Bible-based family relationships are critical to personal growth and spiritual maturity. Marriage is a serious matter to God, a sacred union.

If you want to experience the fullness of God’s blessing, make sure that you know His Word. Then apply the teachings of His Word in your relationships, finances, and family.
