God’s Promises for You

“A man . . . brought the man of God a sack of fresh grain and twenty loaves of barley bread . . . ‘Feed one hundred people with only this?’ But Elisha repeated, ‘Give it to the group of prophets . . . the Lord says there will be plenty for all. There will even be some left over!’ And sure enough, there was plenty for all and some left over, just as the Lord had promised.”
2 Kings 4:42-44 NLT

Elisha faced what seemed to be an insurmountable challenge. There were 100 people to feed, but only a single sack of grain and some bread were available. Yet God promised that everyone would be fed, and some would be left over!

This may have seemed impossible, but Elisha had faith and obeyed. And God kept His Word! The miracle took place!

Many years later, Jesus’ disciples faced a greater obstacle (Matthew 14:14-21). This time, there were 5,000 men (plus women and children), and only five loaves and two fish were available. While His disciples doubted that this was enough, Jesus did not hesitate. Once again, a miracle took place and everyone was fed!

So often, we face problems with no apparent solutions. Situations without obvious answers. Instead of believing God, and having faith, it can seem easier to worry, doubt, and expect defeat.

Do you face any situations like this? Ask yourself if you really have faith in God. Do you really believe that His promises are true for you? Are you putting His Word into practice? The Bible promises that God is ready to bless you, but you need to act in faith.

Today, declare His promises to be true. For you! He can do anything, but you need to exercise faith, and put that faith into action. Do not doubt, but believe Him. He can solve any problems you face!

Prayer: Father, I believe that Your promises are true and that You can do anything. Show me how I can put these promises to work, and receive Your miracles. Thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
