God Speaks

God Speaks

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

It has been the cry of people throughout time. The hope that God would speak to them.

This was the desire of Job, who desperately wanted to hear from Him. God’s silences were a recurring theme of the psalms of David, who prayed, “O God of my praise, do not be silent!” (Psalm 109:1 NASB).

Throughout the Bible we are reminded that God already has spoken through His revealed Word. That we need to make this the foundation for our lives.

But Jesus’ birth demonstrated that God continues to care about us and be involved in our lives. And it provides examples of the many ways He can speak. He sent His angels to be messengers. He used dreams, and even the movement of the stars, to communicate to those sensitive and prepared to listen.

The Christmas story reminds us how God spoke by sending Jesus. Then Jesus Himself described how the Spirit continually would interact with His followers. How the Spirit “will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you” (John 14:26).

Throughout this season, while celebrating Jesus’ birth, remember that God loves you. That He expressed this love by sending Jesus, and that He still desires to communicate with you, even today.

Make this a time to be more sensitive to His Spirit. More aware of His presence. More committed to prayer. Listening more carefully for His voice. More committed to a deeper knowledge of His revealed Word. More aware of ways He might guide you, warn you, or teach you new things.

He is the God who continues to speak to His people. Who cares about you.
