God Cannot Lie

It is easy to say that we believe and trust in God. Yet many who make these claims still struggle with doubt. They worry about problems and have difficulty being confident in Him.

This issue strikes at the core of our faith. It challenges us to trust Him regardless of the circumstances and no matter what we may see with our eyes.

In every moment, we need to remember that God “cannot lie.” We need to repeat these words and focus on them. Yes, God cannot lie!

By definition, ALL of His words are true! In fact, His way is “perfect,” and ALL His “promises prove true” (2 Samuel 22:31 NLT).

Paul told Titus about the “hope of eternal life which God…promised before time began” (v. 2). Like all His promises, this promise was true because God “cannot lie.” There could be no question or doubt about this powerful truth.

In our lives, doubts and questions may enter our minds, but we must realize that they are based on our own weaknesses and limitations. We need to place our confidence and assurance in God and His Word.

Just think about the promises God has made to us: He promised to meet our needs “according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). He promised that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

God also promised to protect and provide for us. He gave us His Holy Spirit to be our Comforter and Guide. He gave us His Word, and promised we could walk in His authority and power.

All of these promises, and more, are true for you. Banish doubt from your life. Fill your mind and heart with God’s promises.

Remember: He cannot lie. Rejoice, because each promise is true. Yes, they are true for you! Now and forever.
