Finding True Life in Jesus

Finding True Life in Jesus reminds you that real life begins with Him and grows as you trust His truth above the world’s shifting voices.

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life” (1 John 1:1 NASB).

From the opening words of his letter, John made it clear that he was writing about life. He began by proclaiming “the word of life.” This Word (logos) is the very presence and revelation of Jesus.

Jesus is the only true Source of life. John’s writings emphasize that real life begins with Jesus, and all who believe in Him can have eternal life: “We have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life” (v. 2). As he ended this letter, John wrote that Jesus “is the true God and eternal life” (5:20).

Many in the world are eager to tell us how to live, what to believe, how to solve problems, how to succeed, or how to enjoy pleasure. Many people tell us why we shouldn’t believe the Bible or why it’s foolish to trust in God. They spread doubt and encourage us to accept their wisdom and focus on material things.

Yes, it can be tempting to focus on the things of this world. But John tried to help us see that our life needs to begin and end with Jesus. He is our life—both now and into eternity.

Remember how simple and wonderful it is to trust in Jesus! Through faith in Him, everything changes. As you focus on Him, you can experience life in an entirely new way. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)!
