Finding Jesus

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

How do we reach the Lost and bring them to salvation? Consider what we learn by examining the experiences of two of Jesus’ first disciples. Both Philip and Nathanael were “found,” but in completely different ways.

There is no indication that Philip was interested in being “found.” He was simply going about his life when Jesus found and called him. But after he responded and followed Jesus, Philip felt compelled to share this Good News. It was Philip who then “found” Nathanael and told him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph” (v. 45).

Nathanael had questions and doubts. And, eventually, he had a personal encounter with Jesus and became convinced He was “the Son of God…the King of Israel” (vs. 45-49).

As we think about people we know, we can pray that God would act sovereignly to reveal Himself to them, as He did in the lives of men like Philip. But He also wants us to be like Philip and reach out to others. He wants us to share Jesus with those who need the Gospel.

Do you know people who need to know Jesus? Pray for them. Ask God to intervene in their lives, open their eyes, speak to them, and call them.

But also remember to share what He’s done for you. Be a witness and testify boldly. Don’t forget to give of your time, talent, and treasure so others can be saved.
