Continual Sowing

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

A life of continual sowing leads to lasting impact. Keep planting seeds of generosity, faith, and obedience, trusting God to bring the harvest.

“Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether one or the other will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good.”Ecclesiastes 11:6 NASB

What we do each moment helps to shape our lives, our habits and thoughts, the choices we make with our resources, the words we speak, our relationships and lifestyle.

To help us understand this truth, the Bible emphasizes that everything we have belongs to God. Every thought and resource is a gift from Him. He blesses us that we might bless others (Genesis 12:2). As we have received “freely,” we should “freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

The Bible also teaches that we should continually sow seeds. Our thoughts, actions, and resources are the seeds we are to sow. We should look for opportunities to sow into God’s Kingdom and into the lives of others.

This is a life of joy, freedom, and faith, not hoarding our possessions, but delighting to share what He has given us, remembering that “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Recognizing that God is faithful, you can be confident that as you give, “it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure – pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return” (Luke 6:38).

Ask God to help you develop a lifestyle of giving. Continually sow into the lives of others and into His Kingdom. The more you sow, the more you will reap! If you want a continual harvest, make it a habit to sow seeds continually.

Reflection Question: What seeds can you sow today that will have an eternal impact?
