Confident in God’s Promises

All of us know the feeling. Moments may come on our jobs or at home when we face major decisions or financial challenges, moments when we might feel stretched beyond our ability, inadequate for the tasks that confront us. We can feel that we do not have the strength or ability to do what we are asked to do. Our burdens may seem totally overwhelming.

Faced with these uncertainties, we might become worried or afraid, weighed down by stress and anxiety. Instead, these are times to renew our confidence in God and His Word. In our flesh, we might feel weak, but, as Paul learned, our weaknesses are the perfect opportunity for God to reveal His strength in us.

Paul wrote that, because of God’s grace, we could be sufficient “under all circumstances and whatever the need.” Later, Paul wrote, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10 KJV). He knew that God was ready to give him strength, even when he was weak.

Today, don’t allow doubt or worry to dominate your life. Don’t focus on your weaknesses. Instead, place your confidence in God. Commit your needs to Him, and thank Him for His answers and for the strength that He will give you.

Believe His promises, and make them the foundation of your life. Declare them in every situation you face. Be confident that He is with you in everything you do.
