Confidence and Boldness

The Bible encourages us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). And we can pray about anything! There are no restrictions, for God is interested in everything, no matter how small or great.

Yet many Christians don’t seem to believe this. They limit what they will pray about. As a result, they do not receive the answers God could provide.

The Bible also tells us that God wants us to be confident when we pray. There should be no doubt that He will listen to us (v. 14). Yet many Christians fail to have this confidence.

There is one condition for this confidence: We are to ask Him for anything in line with His will. How do we know His will? The surest way is to read His Word. There He reveals His standards and promises.

When your prayers are based on His Word, you can pray with confidence. You can be bold in praying for your health or finances, for your friends or family, for protection or His peace, for guidance and wisdom, and for the salvation of others.

Today bring your requests before God, always being careful to use His Word as the standard for your life and your prayers. Declare His promises to be true. Pray without ceasing, with confidence and boldness. And remember that your prayers are not falling on deaf ears, because the Bible tells us that he is listening (v. 15).
