Changed into His Likeness

Everything in our lives changes when we realize we are the “children of God.” As God’s children, we’ve been “born again,” we still must grow and develop. This means going through a wide variety of experiences—sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing; sometimes doing what’s right, sometimes what’s wrong; sometimes pleasing God, sometimes falling short.

As a good Father, God doesn’t give up on us when we make mistakes. He knows our nature and wants us to learn from our experiences. He wants to help us develop our minds and emotions, and grow spiritually strong. As our Father, God looks at us with eyes of love, seeking ways to protect and guide us. We shouldn’t be surprised when He disciplines us, points out our faults, and helps us recognize areas where we need correction or improvement.

Our ultimate destiny won’t be clear until we’re present with Him. Then, and only then, “we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.” Until that day, we must continue to change.

As you look at your life, always remember that “it has not appeared as yet what we will be.” You are not in your final form. In fact, you can’t even imagine what you will be like in eternity. Only God knows.

Today, remember these truths. Obey God’s Word. Have faith. Trust Him. He’s trying to refine you and help you mature so you’ll be more like Jesus. He desires to let His Light shine through you more powerfully, so He can impact more lives.

Surrender your life anew to Him! He is your loving Father.
