Asking Big and Believing Bigger

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

Asking Big and Believing Bigger encourages you to take Jesus at His word and trust His power to move the mountains standing in your way.

“Whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart … it will be done for him. … Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:23–24).

To the disciples, some problems just couldn’t be solved. Some barriers seemed insurmountable. But Jesus wanted them to change their expectations and understand that, through God, they had access to limitless power.

He made this bold statement: “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” He didn’t set any limits or conditions … except the degree to which they asked and believed.

Jesus said this same power is available to everyone who is willing to ask Him for answers … everyone who has faith … everyone who does not doubt. How often have you read this promise? Do you really believe it’s true? Do you find doubts sometimes arising?

Sometimes our circumstances seem hopeless. Our resources seem limited. We might look at the mountains we face and feel that God’s promises couldn’t possibly be true.

But the Bible says God wants you to reach out in faith, trusting in His unlimited power. He wants you to recognize that, with Him, nothing is impossible.

Commit your needs to God. Be bold, and declare God’s promises to be true for you! Don’t limit your requests, but obey His Word. Ask for the breakthrough you need. Although your circumstances may look impossible at times, put your faith in Jesus’ words: “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Reflection Question: What bold prayer is God prompting you to believe for today?

Prayer
Father, I commit my issues to You. Thank You for the answers. You are the God of breakthroughs. I have faith in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
