According to Your Word

Many Christians pray, go to church and read the Bible, yet still spend much of their time feeling defeated. Instead of being confident, they are filled with doubt. Instead of living in victory, they feel frustrated and anxious. And they wonder why.

We can find an important key by looking at the life of Mary, the mother of Jesus. She provided a great example of faith in action.

When the angel told Mary that she was going to bring forth a Son, she didn’t question him or hesitate. She simply responded, “Let it be to me according to your word.” She did not necessarily understand what was being asked of her, or what God would do. But she was willing to trust Him, to believe His Word, and then to act on that belief.

The angel spoke a Word from God. But Mary had to trust the Word, declare it over her own life and say, “I believe the Word. Let God’s Word be true for me even as you have spoken it.” That is the kind of expectant faith and obedience that can revolutionize our lives and make it possible for God to perform miracles. This expectant faith can catapult us into deeper dimensions.

In your life, declare God’s Word to be true, for you! Realize that each of the promises in the Bible apply to you. Know His Word. Stand on His promises. Say aloud, and silently, throughout this day, “Let it be to me according to your Word.”
