A Personal Pentecost

A Personal Pentecost

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries1 Minutes

When Paul spoke to the believers in Ephesus, he did not doubt their salvation. But he was concerned to learn that they had never heard about the Holy Spirit. As a result, they had not experienced the Spirit for themselves. They didn’t know what they were missing!

Paul knew from his own life what a difference the Spirit made. He changes lives in countless ways with revolutionary impact. So Paul laid hands on these believers, and “the Holy Spirit came on them” (v. 6).

This was an important moment for these Christians. But years later, the Ephesian church needed to be reminded about the Spirit. Paul instructed them that, even though they had been saved and once experienced the Spirit, they needed to continue to seek to be filled with His presence (Ephesians 5:18).

Many Christians today need a similar reminder. Some have been born again, but have not had their own personal Pentecost. Others have forgotten how the Spirit can help us, or don’t realize how He changes lives.

Today on this Pentecost Sunday, believers throughout the world celebrate the day the Spirit first filled believers. Today, be renewed in your relationship with the Spirit.

Seek to be filled anew with the Spirit. Seek to be more sensitive to His leading, that His fruit and gifts might operate through you. Pray that He might guide and empower you in new and more dynamic ways.
