A Changed Life

It was a situation that must have been intimidating. The man was just a beggar. His only distinguishing characteristic was that he had been born blind. He probably had limited education and no experience as a public speaker.

Then, something amazing happened. Jesus completely healed him. For the first time, he actually could see! But instead of rejoicing with the man, the religious leaders were not happy. Their concern was the fact that the healing took place on the Sabbath. They wanted to know more about what happened to the man!

The man’s neighbors were interviewed. Then the man was called to explain what had happened. His accusers wanted answers to this question: “How were your eyes opened?” they asked.

He explained how Jesus had made some mud and put it on his eyes. Then, after he washed, he was able to see. But this explanation did not satisfy these men. To them, Jesus could not possibly have been from God, “for he does not keep the Sabbath.”

After grilling the man’s parents, they asked the man further questions. As they probed, he could not answer their theological and theoretical questions. He only could tell them what had happened to him. He just knew that he had been blind, but now he could see. This was all the evidence he needed. Jesus had changed his life.

Today, the world is full of skeptics people who doubt the Gospel and believe that the Bible is just a collection of stories.

How would you respond to critics like this? Think about what Jesus has done for you. How real is the change that has taken place? Stand firm in the reality that he has changed your life! That you really know Him!
